 Desserts - Country Apple Dumplings - Olson OriginsPrevious Next [Print] 
2 Large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
2 cans (10 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup butter
1-1/2 cups brown sugar (white may be substituted)
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 can (12 fluid oz) citrus soda (Mountaiin Dew type)

Oven:  350
9X13 Baking Dish, Greased

Cut each apple into 8 wedges.  Set aside,
Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.
Roll each wedge in dough triangles, staring at smallest end, and pinching to seal.
Place in baking dish.
Melt butter in a small saucepan, then stir in sugar and cinnamon.
Pour sauce over apple dumplings.
Pour citrus soda over the dumplings.
Bake for 35-40 minutes in the preheated oven.
